Uncanny

“The uncanny valley” refers to the human’s unsettling response when observing something that appears almost, but not quite, human. Sophia the humanoid robot falls within the uncanny valley spectrum.
Uncanny is a 128-page book that follows a staircase structure. Each layer reflects a different depth, through which we perceive Sophia: starting with her appearance, then our assumptions about her, and finally a true understanding of her intentions and our reaction towards her.
